John D. Rockefeller became the world's first billionaire in 1916. He had introduced the status quo 'billionaire'. His net worth over the last decade of his life would easily place him as the wealthiest known person in history. As a percentage of the U.S. G.D.P., no other American fortune including those of Bill Gates and Sam Walton would even come closer to Rockefeller.

He was born in 8 July 1839, Rich Ford, New York. He id often referred to as the oil titan. He was an astute businessman who achieved 'billionaire' status in 1916 for his ownership of standard oil.
He was a hardworking person. He started his journey from age 16 landing job as assistant bookkeeper with Hewitt & Turtle, commission merchant and produce shippers. In 1870 he started Standard oil company, becoming beast in oil industry.
His leadership in Standard oil company brought him great wealth and controversy too. In 1911 Supreme court ordered disintegration of Standard oil, that disintegration o Standard oil made him him earn hundreds of millions of dollars.
