3 greatest mathematicians of all time and their works.

According to experts there were 3 greatest mathematicians who ever lived. Now some people agree with these and some don't but don't worry I will give some thoughts at the end and make things clear.

Archimeds(287BCE - 211BCE)

About:

Archimeds was a greek Mathematician, Inventor, Physicist, Engineer, Astronomer. He is also called the father of mathematician because he was the founder of mathematics.

Contributions:

He discovered the relation between the surfaces and volumes of a sphere and circumscribing cylinder.

Sir Issac Newton(1643 - !727)

About:

Sir Issac Newton was a English Mathematician, Physicist, Astronomer, Theologian and author. He is a very well  known personality and you would surely know him.

Contributions:

In mathematics his contribution is the discovery of infinitesimal calculus.

Carl friedrich Gauss(1777 - 1855)

About:

Johann Carl friedrich was a German Mathematician and Physicist. He said " mathematics is the queen of science". Some people also call him the prince of mathematics.

Contribution:

He laid out the Number theory, geometry, probability theory, geometry, planetary astronomy, the theory of functions and potential theory.

Final thoughts :

As I said in the beginning that some people accept them and some don't. There is not much debate in archimeds but newton and gauss are highly compared. Some people even say ' If newton considered the greatest scientist of all time then gauss could easily called the greatest mathematician'.

Far from these thoughts I think all of these three gems were the greatest mathematicians ever born. Of course there are also a list of great mathematicians like Hypatia and Girolamo Cardano. But these are the greatest mathematicians which ever lived and too there should be no comparison because all of them made significant contribution to mathematics and mathematics without them I think is incomplete.
